What do I pay after the first year?
Hosting is $400 a year, GST included, and that is the only fixed cost. Changes are $55 per request, and you only pay when you ask for one. Extra pages are $165 each if you ever want more.
What counts as a small change?
One quick edit to something already on your site: opening hours, a price, a phone number, a line of text or a photo swap. New pages, new sections, new features and design changes are not small changes, and we quote those separately.
Is a custom site better than Wix, Squarespace or WordPress?
For what your customer feels, yes: it loads faster, it works properly on a phone, and there is nothing to maintain. Wix and Squarespace ship a lot of code your business will never use, and you are renting the site rather than owning it. WordPress is yours, but a themed build carries plugins that slow it down, break on updates and need renewing every year. We write only the code your site needs, so there is nothing in it doing a job you did not ask for.
Does a faster website actually make a difference?
Yes, twice over. People give up on slow pages, most of them on a phone, halfway through a job or on the train. And Google uses loading speed as a ranking signal, so a slow site is harder to find in the first place.
Do you build online stores?
No. Brochure sites only, so no cart, no customer logins and nothing for you to administer. If you need to sell online you want a store platform rather than us, and we will say so rather than take the job.
What do you need from me to start?
The onboarding, filled in properly: what the business does, what you sell, and who you want calling. Send any photos, logos and words you want used. If you have no photos we find the best stock we can, and if you have no copy we write it.
What if I want to move the site somewhere else later?
You own your content and design once paid. We keep the underlying code. If you leave, we hand over a static copy of your site, and your domain was never in our name to begin with.
Can you move us off Wix, Squarespace or WordPress?
Yes, and it is a rebuild rather than a rescue. We take your content, your images and anything worth keeping, and build the site properly around them. You keep your domain and your email, and the price is the same as any other build.
Will we lose our Google ranking if we rebuild?
Not if it is done properly. Every page that exists now gets a page on the new site or a permanent redirect to the closest one, and the structure search engines read gets better, not worse. Most rebuilds move up over the following months, because the new site is faster and clearer.
